Roland Roure

* 1940

In 1973, Roland Roure invented his first mobile toys: animals, vehicles, figures made of wood, sheet metal and wire. In the following period, he developed the groups of works of weather vanes and mobile metal sculptures. Going further than Calder and Rickey, he endowed them with a figuration that has its roots in folk art, Mediterranean myths and the art of the Greeks, but also in modern painting; at the same time, he found his way to more complex movements and a freer choice of materials.

In addition to his mobile works and painted wooden sculptures, there are also lamps, painted ceramics and furniture. After exhibitions in France, Belgium and the USA., Werkraum Buchholz is showing a compilation of his diverse work for the fourth time.
